Principal Message

Riverside Families,

As we wrap up the first nine weeks, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for a wonderful start to the school year. We have much to celebrate, and I am proud of the growth, hard work, and determination our students have shown each day.

As we begin the second grading period, your partnership remains essential to student success. A few simple ways you can support learning at home include:

  • Encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes each day and discuss what they are reading.
  • Practice basic math facts and have your child explain how they solved a math problem.
  • Look for opportunities to use math in daily activities such as shopping, cooking, measuring, or telling time.
  • Review assignments and progress regularly to celebrate successes and address any concerns early.
  • Ensure your child attends school every day and arrives on time.

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Together, we will continue making Riverside a great place to learn, grow, and thrive as we unlock the Power of Possibility for every student.

Donate to the Riverside Foundation

Supporting the Power of Possibility
Our students' success is made possible through the partnership of our families and community. The Riverside Foundation helps bridge the gap between basic funding and an extraordinary educational experience by supporting student enrichment opportunities, classroom resources, teacher support, and school improvements.

Whether you choose to Believe ($25), Belong ($50), or Become ($100), every gift makes a direct impact on our students and school. Most importantly, every donation, no matter the size, helps us create more opportunities for our Riverside Rockets to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you for investing in the power of possibility at Riverside Elementary!

Or text RESFUND to 91999 to give.

Did You Know? You can also support Riverside Elementary by donating clothing, shoes, and other reusable items in the donation container located on our campus. A portion of the proceeds from every donation is returned to our school and helps fund programs and opportunities for our students. As you clean out closets and prepare for the season ahead, consider giving your gently used items a second life while supporting our Riverside Roadrunners.

Every donation makes a difference and helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and thrive!

Attendance Matters

A graphic features the text 'ATTENDANCE MATTERS.' in large yellow and blue letters, with 'ALL DAY, EVERY DAY' in grey below.
I want to share a quick update on our attendance from the week of October 5–9.

Our schoolwide goal is to stay below 30 absences per day. Last week was a tough one, averaging nearly double that target—ranging from 54 to 65 daily absences.

Of course, if your child is sick, they should stay home to rest and prevent the spread of illness. However, every healthy day at school matters tremendously for your child’s academic growth and connection with our community. When students are feeling well, please help us by ensuring they arrive on time and ready to learn each day.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making attendance a priority!
